Open SourceKDE Plasma 4.11 will be the last release in the 4.x series, and will be supported by 2 years

Aaron Seigo, the main developer of KDE-shell Plasma, said that the planned August 14 release of KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11 will be the last in a series 4.x and he will be replaced by Plasma Workspaces 2, based on Qt5 and KDE Frameworks 5.

KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11 is regarded as a stable release with long term support, summarizing the existence of branches 4.x. Corrective update for KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11 will be issued for two years. Continue reading
