Red Hat LinuxRed Hat has announced the release of a distributed file system GlusterFS 3.4, which allows to organize work on multiple nodes of the distributed repository that is deployed on top of full-time POSIX file system, such as Ext4, XFS and Btrfs, with the use of FUSE (filesystem in userspace).

GlusterFS provides tools for automatic failover and provides virtually unlimited scalability by eliminating the reference to a centralized server meta-data (using distributed hash tables).
