Law Firm Website

This is an article with some tips about designing a website for a law firm.

As for any serious business, a website for a law firm needs to be really well designed. The days of just throwing up a one page HTML monster are definitely over. If you want potential clients that land on your website to take your firm seriously, you need to make sure that your site is professionally designed. This doesn’t mean that your website needs to be a design masterpiece of course, you’re not in the design business yourself after all. What this does mean however is that your website needs to have a clean, organized look, is optimized for all devices and is easy to navigate. People don’t search for law firms to find some casual reading material, they look for information, and with your website you need to make it as easy as possible for them to find it.

In order to make your law firm website a valuable asset to your business that helps bring in leads we’ve rounded up 5 tips for designing your law firm’s website.

One Glance Should be Enough

From the moment a visitor lands on your website, they should be able to tell if your law firm would be able to help them out. People are very quick to make a judgment on the internet, so if they don’t like what they see immediately, they’ll most likely hit the back button. Someone landing on your website is usually looking for help with a certain type of legal matter. Make sure that your site’s homepage (and any other page) clearly displays the different types of legal services your firm specializes in. Your header navigation should be present on every webpage, listing the legal services that your firm offers. Your homepage needs to elaborate on what your firm offers its clients, so people can immediately find out if they’ve come to the right place.

List Your Contact Information Clearly on All Pages of Your Site

You want to make it as easy as possible for visitors to get in contact with your firm. If someone’s in immediate need of legal help, but can’t find your phone number on your website, they’ll have to look for help elsewhere. Put your phone number clearly at the top of every web page and add in a call-to-action.

Make Every Page Look Like Your Homepage

You want to have a dedicated webpage on your site for every legal service you offer. People searching for certain legal search terms in search engines will often get results for these specific pages, and will be directed straight to them, bypassing your homepage. This means that you need to design every webpage like it’s your homepage. Make sure that visitors can find everything they need (like a contact form) to get in touch with you on each page and that your navigation bar is present and looks the same on each webpage.

Blog

It is a good idea to add a blog to your site. Providing interesting legal tips that potential clients can read on your website offers a great way to connect with new clients and show off your expertise. Furthermore, regularly posting good content on your blog will improve your website’s SEO.

Social Media

These days, not even law firms can escape social media. While not as important as in some other industries, it’s still a good idea to set up social media pages for your law firm and put links to them on your website. There’s no doubt that social media will become more and more important to get your website found.

If you take these five tips into account when designing your law firm’s website, you’ll be well on your way to creating a great online home for your legal practice.
